Objective - Nothing is more challenging then to live up to a name like 'Chiasso', which translated means to create an uproar. Budget was an important focus because this prototype would roll out nationally. The primary goal for HDG was to create an environment that was both exciting and whimsical but still keeps the customer's attention focused on the products. Our approach, after meeting with the corporate staff and store managers, was to create interesting fixtures, which showcased the merchandise, yet gave maximum display flexibility to the store personnel as the seasons change.

Through the use of warmer maple wood and a new color palette, combined with étagère type fixtures, we were able to increase the amount of presentable merchandise within the store without sacrificing back stock and storage space. The prototype store came in under budget and after its first full year was trending 30% above projections. After three years of this successful format, Chiasso asked HDG to expand this prototype to include lifestyle furniture in Boca Town Center, Florida.
